how it all began
The beginning of our story
Imagine four young and enthusiastic ski instructors. At 30 years old in the early 2000s, they were very keen to get in the game.
That was also about the time when snowboarding began to become popular in Cortina, but few people had a board.
So, what to do? We started renting snowboards and skis to tourists who came from far away and thus couldn’t bring all their equipment with them. We got our start working out of a small garage and a ski-repair workshop next door; by the following year, we had our own small rental shop in the centre of Cortina.

We hired via ferrata kit and bikes from this shop during our holiday in Cortina and the staff were fantastic giving helpful guidance. They were also very fair when we didn’t use the kit on the second day of our hire. Would highly recommend!

Easy to book and pick up, employee was very helpful and gave us recommendations based on the weather. Drop off very easy as well, but they close at 7pm so be sure to get back before then.

Absolutely great! We rented two via ferrata sets and a helmet here—the whole thing cost 50 € in total. The equipment was in great condition and completely safe. What was especially great was that the team is totally flexible with the times: We were able to return the gear without any problems the next morning at 8:00 a.m. There’s absolutely nothing to complain about here. Excellent service, highly recommended! 5/5 stars.

Staff Friendly, shop had a good vibe. However the E-Bikes we hired, needed some love. Hired x5 bikes all of which had some kind of issue, rotor bolts loose, dropper post issues, headset play, stanchion wear and bushing issue on one of the forks.
Still had a great time though, and condition of the bikes only made it funnier.

Highly recommend! If I’m ever in Cortina or the nearby surrounding area I’m renting from snow service. I loved having the delivery option for our VF equipment. We arrived late the first night and needed an early morning start. Snow service delivered to our hotel the night before to make sure we were good to go! The gear all worked out appropriately and made us some memories!

The team at SnowService 1 couldn’t have been more helpful! They were able to provide the necessary gear for our first via ferrata experience and then took the time to tell us which ferrata would be the best for us! They recommended we do Sci Club 18 (a harder ferrata) as we have a lot of outdoor climbing experience. The experience couldn’t have been better and will recommend SnowService 1 to anyone who needs gear rentals in the Dolomites

Excellent service! Collecting the equipment was very easy. The via ferrata set was in great condition and very reliable. Had an unforgettable experience climbing Gran Cir, Piccolo Cir and the Lagazoui WWI Tunnels! Would highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!
