The starting point is the large parking area located a few hundred metres above the intersection to lake Pianozes, along the road from Campo village to Croda da Lago- Malga Federa.
Here you will find the snowmobiles, equipped with trailers to carry people, to take you to the Rifugio in a fun 15-minute ride uphill.
If you prefer to hike up, the time required is about 2 hours.
Malga Federa lies amid beautiful alpine pasturelands at the foot of Becco di Mezzodì and Croda da Lago and offers unobstructed views over Cortina valley and all the surrounding peaks.
The old farmhouse (1814 m asl) has been recently renovated and can accommodate up to 70 guests in its typical restaurant.
Enjoy your meal and get ready for an exciting ride on your sledge.
About 2.5 m wide and not lit, the forest road has a constant gradient and is never too steep.
The descent takes about 30 minutes and is not dangerous: important is to always control your speed.

The rental shop offers wooden sledges and plastic snow sledges.
From our experience, sledges are to be preferred to snow sledges for this ride.
Important: Cortina doesn’t have any runs homologated for sledging. Descents are usually along groomed forest roads prepared by mountain inns’ snowploughs. You may practice this activity at your own risk and Snowservice is not accountable for the use you make of the rented equipment. Check snow conditions before attempting the ride, in case of lack of snow or icy patches we advise against.
