Trail gators, the half bike attached to the back of an adult’s seatpost, like a tandem, are ideal for 5-6 year old kids to enjoy a day riding. Dog bike trailers in all sizes.
The old railway, now a cycling path that connects Cortina to Dobbiaco, is suitable for everyone with an e-bike. The charming trail runs by small lakes, through tunnels excavated in rocks, and crosses bridges suspended over deep canyons.
For a rest stop along the way, there are a few restaurants: at Ospitale, Cimabanche, Landro and Dobbiaco lakes.
The cycling path runs in both directions, to the south towards San Vito and Calalzo. Along the way, the playgrounds of restaurant Area 51 at Acquabona and the Happy Park at Borca di Cadore are worth a stop.
Older kids can ride up to Lago Pianozes where parents will enjoy their time on the beautiful deck of the namesake restaurant, while they will compete in counting the fish of the lake.
Instead, if you prefer hiking, there are endless itineraries to choose from. For younger kids, Snow Service offers comfortable Deuter child carrier backpacks and TFK 3-wheel mountain strollers (also for twins).

The easiest routes are the Pian de ra Spines loop through Fiames charming forest, or the leisurely walk to Rifugio Mietres from the car park at Brite de Larieto.

This hike, with little elevation gain, will take you to the Boite’s springs in the heart of the Natural Park of the Ampezzo Dolomites.
As you get fitter, a trip in the Natural Park of Ampezzo Dolomites is a must: from Malga Ra Stua towards Campo di Croce or up to Rifugio Fodara Vedla.
