To book snowmobile rides and to reserve a table at the restaurant, call + 39 0436 860294. If you prefer to hike up, the time required is about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
The starting point is along SR48 road heading to Passo Falzarego, about 9 km from Cortina centre. Leave your car on the side of the road, close to the forest road access (closed to private vehicles) to Rifugio Dibona.
Here you will find the snowmobiles, equipped with trailers to carry people, to take you to the Rifugio in a fun 15-minute ride uphill.
There are 5 snowmobiles available with a capacity of 6 passengers each. For larger groups, drivers will do more laps.
Rifugio Dibona (2083 m) lies right at the foot of majestic Tofana di Rozes and offers unique views over the surrounding Dolomite peaks.
The Rifugio is open daily from December 26th to January 7th and from February 15th to March 5th. During the other periods it is open on weekends only.
Enjoy your meal and get ready for an exciting ride on your sledge.
About 2.5 m wide and not lit, the forest road has a constant gradient and is never too steep. A short level stretch needs walking.
The descent takes about 25 minutes and is not dangerous. Important is to always control the speed.
The rental shop offers wooden sledges and plastic snow sledges; top-of-the-line wooden or aluminum sledges are also available for those who like high performance gear. From our experience, sledges are to be preferred to snow sledges for this ride.
Important: Cortina doesn’t have any runs homologated for sledging. Descents are usually along groomed forest roads prepared by mountain inns’s snowploughs.
You may practice this activity at your own risk and Snowservice is not accountable for the use you make of the rented equipment.
Check snow conditions before attempting the ride, in case of lack of snow or icy patches we advise against.
