Dine at rifugio Dibona and descend on a sledge

Fun ride up by snowmobile to Rifugio Dibona.

Enjoy a typical dinner at the Rifugio before an exciting sledge ride along the forest road and the Tofanina ski run, down to Fedarola herdsman’s huts.

Suggested departure time: 7.30pm

Grade: 3/10

Elevation gain: 550 m, by snow mobile

Elevation loss: 550 m, sledge ride

Length: 5km ( sledge ride)

Estimated Time: 25 minutes

The starting point to reach Rifugio Dibona is Vervei, 10km from Cortina center on the road to Passo Falzarego. Drive past Pocol and Son dei Prade parking area. After a few hairpins, the road levels and on your right you will find the junction to Rifugio Dibona. Park the car on the side of the road.

The 5 km ride up is by snowmobile. The Rifugio owns 3 snow mobiles equipped with trailers that can accommodate up to 20 people.

A charming forest road that intersects the Tofanina ski run will take you in 15 minutes to Rifugio Dibona, 2037 m.

Dinner and snowmobile transport reservations are required. Book at + 39 0436 860294.

The Rifugio has a maximum seating capacity of 70 people. It is open daily from 26th December, 2017 to 10th January, 2018; on Fridays and Saturdays only, in the other periods. However, large groups may book even on Sundays.

After a typical mountain dinner, many guests ride downhill on their sledges.

The forest road is not lit and has a width of 2.50 m, never steep and fairly smooth. Since the track is not homologated for sledging, everyone descends at their own risk.

The downhill ride is about 25 minutes and is not dangerous at all, but we recommend controlling your speed from the start.

A guide is not necessary, however, for your own safety, we suggest contacting an alpine guide
