free-ride skis rental
in Cortina d’Ampezzo
Free-Riding, what a fun!
Nowadays, free-ride skiing, with its specific type of skis, has replaced the old “off-piste” skiing where traditional skis where used in powder.
This type of skis are wider, in order to guarantee more floating, softer and lighter to better adapt to the variations of the terrain.
Skiing fresh, cold snow, as soft as “powder”, is such a great experience that is hard to describe: you have to try it first hand.
Free-riding is not only for extremely advance skiers. Even good skiers, with the right equipment and on suitable terrain, can enjoy it.
In Cortina, the best place to rent free-ride skis is, of course, Snow service – located at 206 Corso Italia (Snow Service 3).
Snow Service offers a wide range of powder skis with different width underfoot, suitable for all conditions and terrain:
Salomon Quest 92 – 106 – 118
K2 Pinnacle 95
Head Venturi 95
Finger crossed for a big snow fall, because when the snow does come, Cortina offers unique opportunities.
The black runs are among the most beautiful and extreme in the Dolomites: Vertigine Bianca and Labirinti, for example.
For back-country lovers there are famous off-piste routes and intriguing gullies: Valon dei Comate, Valorita, Sci 18, Creste Bianche among others.
Tours with the Alpine Guides in total safety
equipment and security
Heli-skiing: a must try, at least once in a lifetime.
Contact the local Alpine Guides and book a heli-skiing trip to the immaculate slopes of Mt. Sorapis, Mt Antelao and Mt. Faloria. The descent will become an unforgettable memory. Above all, safety is the number one priority.
It is always highly recommended to hire an Alpine Guide who has a wide knowledge of the area, snow and weather conditions.
In addition to skis, ski boots and adjustable poles, we also provide the avalanche safety gear: ice-axe, crampons, shovel, probe, and transceiver.
The air-bag pack is also available for the most extreme routes.
